Operation is a Success for Surgery Santas

Be careful what you wish for – you just might get it.
When Operating Room nurses, techs, and support personnel decided to forgo the traditional gift exchange this year, they chose to honor the spirit of Christmas by adopting a family in need.
Their family included a mother, father, teenage girl, elementary school age girl and three-year-old twins (a girl and a boy). So there were plenty of needs to meet.
The Surgical Services team went right to work. From the beginning, the generosity of employees was overwhelming.
When the nursing staff placed boxes by the front desk and asked for new or gently used gifts, there was such a response that they added more boxes. And more boxes.
Then, they collected money to pay for a lovely Christmas dinner for the entire family.
And gifts kept on coming. When boxes reached the ceiling, eight Surgical Services Santas hopped into their vehicles and formed a caravan to the family's house. Operation Christmas was about to begin.
From one of the Santas: "The little children were just so amazed and I think in shock that there were so many presents. We also gave them an artificial tree complete with all the ornaments and lights. This was just such a wonderful thing to be apart of, I know we will do it again next year."
