Magnet Story, STICU

Mr. G. Clark was a long term patient in the STICU. His dad would call every morning to check
on how he did overnight. Unfortunately, the patient died last month at 6:30 A.M. When his father arrived, he spent a few minutes with his son and then asked to meet the person that answered the phone in the mornings. He stated that she was his sunshine in the morning. The secretary had already left but he called the next morning and thanked her for her kindness when he called. The secretary recognized was La Tasha Mills in the STICU unit. This event occurred in March 2008.

This story is important because it was a true meaning of customer service. Even in this man’s darkest after the death of his son, La Tasha had made such an impact with her kind words that he wanted to personally thank her.
